We began mixing colors and staining wood for floors, ceilings, walls and furniture when designers and clients were frustrated with the store bought options available.
We incorporate variations of bleaching, color correction and layering of stains to achieve the right depth of color, remove red undertones and age newly stained wood.
To maintain the integrity of the wood, we give careful consideration to the natural characteristics of each species. Mahogany, walnut, reclaimed pine, rough sawn fir, oak and spruce log are some of woods we work with. Top coats of oil varnishes and wax reveal soft “lit from within” results.
Ceruse or lime finishes over quarter sawn oak can be created in custom colors for desks, cabinetry and walls. Lime brings out the grain in shades of white contrasting a darker background. We custom tint our waxes and blend the stains making it possible to have every color combination imaginable.
